Hello, I'm Gotham's newest antihero, a "fun-seeker"... No, I mean, a "Keeper of Secrets."
It's all because the players in my previous world caused so much trouble that they forced a neutral good Keeper of Secrets like me into becoming a chaotic evil fun-seeker.
Now the new players, especially a certain Bat-man, can't stand the sight of me. He's just one step away from branding me a supervillain and sending me to Arkham, home to countless veteran investigators.
Ah, of course I'd love to visit the sacred ground where so many legendary investigators set sail, the town of Arkham where Miskatonic University is located. But this Arkham isn't that Arkham!!!
No way. I have to correct the world's stereotypical image of Arkham and bring back the heroic figures of all those investigators.
As a veteran Keeper of Secrets, it's my duty!
Hey, you investigators over there, put down the Iron Man armor. It's 1920. There is no advanced technology. Give it up.
You, the one wearing the flag, go to bed! Now! This instant! I know you can stay up all day, but I won't allow it here!
And you, silly kid from outer space, are you sure your Listen is that high and your Willpower that low? Oh, you rolled that five times in a row. Never mind, we obey the will of the Dice Goddess.
Wait, something still feels wrong...
Damn it! Bird from Bludhaven, stop charming my NPCs! Turn off Charm! Do you hear me?
This story includes, but is not limited to:
"Big shots making their character sheets on the spot" (then the protagonist, as Keeper, tears them up)
"A critical success on Charm" (I charm myself)
"Persuading God" (I persuade myself)
"The world's will wants me dead, so I have to die" (I kill myself) (merciless character-sheet tearing.jpg)
"A happy ending for both" (just kidding, they're both insane or dead)
Basically, it's a story about a drama queen of a Keeper who gets the ability to forcibly pull people into games and starts doing whatever they want.
(It mainly follows the secret identity format, and the DC side of the crossover will probably have a more American-style campaign.)
This is a tabletop role-playing story. You can think of it as dragging all kinds of people into a murder mystery game, or as a story with all sorts of bizarre settings, like a collection of alternate-universe fanfics.
The Arkham in the title refers to the one associated with the Cthulhu Mythos.
Synopsis is provisional, written on 2021/6/25
[Reader Advisory]
This started as a burst of inspiration, so I rushed into writing. The synopsis is nonsense, and I might revise it later if it's hard to understand. Maybe.
The content is unhinged, extremely unhinged. If you can't handle it, please leave in time, dear readers.
I'm a beginner at tabletop role-playing too. If you spot any problems, feel free to tell me in the comments. I'm happy to take suggestions.
It mainly follows the seventh edition of the CoC rules, with tons of modified house rules. Since I need to fit it into the setting, there will be plenty of changes. I hope nothing here bothers you.
Most of the scenarios are original (there may be some references, but most of it is the author's own silly improvisation and isn't very polished).
There are lots and lots of changes to the rules and process of tabletop role-playing. Please bear with me, dear readers. After all, a live in-person game in a (supernatural) setting isn't the same as an online or in-person tabletop game, qwq (pathetic.jpg)
(Key point: If you haven't played tabletop role-playing games before, please, please don't use this as a standard. It's just a novel, written mainly for entertainment, and is worlds apart from an actual tabletop game!)
To help readers unfamiliar with tabletop role-playing understand, I'll try to keep things as clear and simple as possible. If you don't get it, you can think of the games in my story as video game levels or an infinite-flow story.
It might end up having little to do with tabletop role-playing as I keep writing (sad).
