Starting Today, I'm a Rich Woman

Until she was nine, Tang Xiaoxiao was the daughter of a family that was doing all right. After she turned nine, she became the daughter of a family drowning in debt.

Her middle-aged father owed tens of millions, while her mother had spent so long as a rich man's wife that she was twenty years out of touch with the working world.

Between the ages of nine and nineteen, Tang Xiaoxiao's family finally made a little progress:

They went from owing fifteen million to owing ten million. At this rate, Tang Xiaoxiao was expected to pay it all off by the time she turned forty.

Just as the unlucky girl had resigned herself to eating poorly for the rest of her life, an old man she'd saved three years earlier came to her door.

The old man had no children, and before he died, he decided to leave the System he had to the person who had once saved his life.

The System was called "Get Rich or I'll Give You Ten Million."

On the first day the System bonded with Tang Xiaoxiao, it puffed out its chest and said, "You're rich now. Tell me, what do you wish for?"

Tang Xiaoxiao exclaimed, "Really? Then can I add a sausage to my instant noodles tonight?"

System: "You can afford to be a little more extravagant."

Tang Xiaoxiao: "Then I'll add an egg, too."

Sheng Ming grew up poor, born with the double misfortune of losing both parents and having only his grandmother to rely on.

On the day he received his first university scholarship at twenty, he was bound to a System called The Rise of the Dragon-Blooded Protagonist.

According to the System's plan, he still had to suffer for twenty years before rising to greatness at forty.

Sheng Ming let out a cold laugh and turned around to accept financial support from a young woman in the department next door.

The System was devastated. "You're the Dragon-Blooded Protagonist! How can you let a woman support you?!"

Sheng Ming spat, "I have no ambition. I'll live off her for the rest of my life. I love being a kept man."

[Couldn't make the entertainment-industry trope work, sob. Sorry for switching to a different trope.]

[The male lead won't really be a kept man for his whole life. He'll still earn money and support his family!]
