Bai Yunmu is a well-behaved young man from China, living in a Marvel universe. After an accident, he is forced to take a living person's side job as an underworld employee: the White Impermanence.
One day, the Eastern Underworld and the Western Hell reach an agreement and establish a joint department to escort the dead. It returns the souls under each side's jurisdiction who died on the other side's turf. As the underworld's only living impermanence, Bai Yunmu is naturally transferred to the home of a certain dark-clad superhero: Gotham. His job is to escort Chinese souls who died in the West back to the underworld.
Bai Yunmu: Don't let the fact that I fight all kinds of villains every day fool you. Sometimes I even organize ghost mobs to party at various villain hideouts, and I happened to rope in a certain Red Hood as my partner.
