As Le Yu walked down the road, she felt the earth tremble. Suddenly, she and half a city were pulled into an apocalyptic world. The dead could walk and jump, and every flower and blade of grass was incredibly dangerous.
She had barely arrived when a zombie clawed her arm. When she woke from her faint, a voice spoke to her: “Congratulations, you’ve been chosen.”
Le Yu: So, are you a System?
System: I am the System. I have now formed a contract with you.
Le Yu: Then what kind of golden finger will you give me? A space? Supplies? Or a special ability?
System: I can meet all your survival needs.
Le Yu: That's so nice of you!
Then Le Yu realized she might have been tricked.
The System did issue quests every day, but the supplies it gave her were always bizarre.
[Kill 1 zombie, get half a box of stale crackers]
[Dig up 1 spirit herb, get 1 bottle of mineral water someone has already drunk from]
They didn't seem like quest rewards from the System. They seemed more like supplies stolen from someone.
Of course, as the quests got harder, the rewards gradually improved too.
[Kill 10 zombies, get 1 broken-down earthen house with no windows or doors... no, a safe house]
[Dig up 10 mutant plants, get... an ability awakening?]
She heard that if she completed quests properly, her safe house could be upgraded, and so could she.
But she had no interest in fighting monsters to level up.
The System whispered: Risk comes with reward.
Le Yu: But farming has no risk, only rewards.
So while everyone else fought zombies and competed for resources, Le Yu farmed.
While everyone else struggled against mutant plants and animals, Le Yu dug them up and took them home to grow.
Eventually, Le Yu turned her safe house into the largest ecological base in the apocalypse. Survivors flocked there, and together they built an idyllic refuge. Not only could they eat fresh fruits and vegetables, they could also sell produce, rice, and grain at high prices...
Everyone else stared at the frenzied, violently swaying mutant plants outside the towering buildings and the powerful mutant beasts running wild everywhere, sweating profusely.
You call this a green ecological base?
Le Yu, the apocalypse's largest food supplier: Is it not green?
★ The System is the male lead. He takes human form later, and there is a romance.
★ Not a strong female lead or a story centered on a female powerhouse. There is no betrayal. Everyone who comes becomes a companion, and they all grow through the apocalypse together.
