Zhang Xiaozhu has the worst luck.

All she did was go shopping, and she got stabbed by a robber targeting a jewelry store.

When she opened her eyes, she had somehow arrived in the impoverished, backward 1960s.

Above her is a mean grandmother who takes extreme favoritism toward boys; below her are younger siblings who don't know what's good for them.

Her father is taciturn and lets others walk all over him, while her mother does nothing but lower her head and wipe away her tears.

Three generations share one household, with nearly twenty people crammed into a tiny, shabby place.

Every meal is rough bran and wild greens. Even a sweet potato is a rare delicacy.

To ease the burden on the extended family, they plan to marry off a daughter to an old widower in exchange for a bride price.

The original owner of this body is frail and timid, and it looks like this task is about to fall to her...

Zhang Xiaozhu: "We're splitting up the family! We absolutely have to split up!"

Besides, the shopping mall she visited came along with her when she crossed over, so what does she have to worry about?

While the Zhang family eats coarse vegetable dumplings, Zhang Xiaozhu eats braised chicken.

While the Zhang family wears ragged padded coats, Zhang Xiaozhu wears a down jacket.

Zhang Xiaozhu's scrawny body fills out, and even her dark face grows fair and delicate. She becomes the village belle of Baisha Village!

The Zhang family can't figure it out. How come Zhang Xiaozhu's life has gotten better and better ever since they kicked her out?
