An extra story about Tian Shu, the second lead in Qing Zheng. Although its protagonist comes from Qing Zheng, it can also be read as a standalone modern novel: a murder case connected to Kaixin001.
Jing Wei, a fourth-year student at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, suddenly disappears. His classmates and girlfriend report him missing, but he remains nowhere to be found. After several twists and turns, the case eventually lands in the hands of Officer Ping Tian Shu.
During the investigation, Tian Shu discovers that Jing Wei may have had an ambiguous relationship with Jiang Xiaolei, a former high school classmate. But Jiang Xiaolei had mysteriously committed suicide before Jing Wei vanished. Her death remains an unsolved case to this day.
Strictly speaking, this isn't a mystery story, but a tale of tracking someone down and solving a case. The deductions and analysis aren't complicated: readers learn what Tian Shu learns as he learns it. What this story aims to convey is the obscurity of love, the purity of friendship, the complexity of human nature, and the distinctiveness of each person's character.
Of course, as the author of the Qing Zheng series, I'm very happy to see Tian Shu (in this extra story) grow up. ^_^
