A First-Rate Scumbag Dad

While trapped in prison, Ming Ruizhi was bound to a System.

The System called itself Gu Gua. It said it would absorb his career points and turn them into survival energy. But Ming Ruizhi, a mighty general who had reached the pinnacle of his career, had nothing left for it to absorb. So the System offered to spoil the plot in exchange for Ming Ruizhi bringing up his son to become a success.

Ming Ruizhi agreed at once: Deal!

Gu Gua: But your beloved son is a hopeless romantic. He'll never amount to anything.

Ming Ruizhi: There's no way! (confident)

"On one side are the affairs of the court, on the other the affairs of the clan. His divorced niece-in-law keeps getting into trouble, too. As her former ninth uncle, he dares not get too close, yet as an old friend of her late father, he cannot keep his distance."

--The original plot, The Ninth Uncle's Troubles

Ming Ruizhi: ...Your ninth uncle really does have it rough, but what does that have to do with you being unable to lift a knife? Change the title! Make it From Camp Cook to Legendary General.

A little note before you start:

It's a short story, and still not a wish-fulfillment novel. It's an everyday family-bond story, with both sweetness and angst.
