The first time Qi Yu appeared in Changle Town, he seemed completely out of place.

He stood under a tree, lifting his eyelids to casually survey the townsfolk passing by. Amid the crowd, unlike the noisy, bustling atmosphere around him, the icy air he exuded made him stand out.

Later, Yu Ning learned that Qi Yu had transferred from a big city. She didn't know why. She'd assumed a young master like him wouldn't fit into the simple life of a small town, but she was wrong.

Qi Yu was popular. In her eyes, he hadn't done anything, and sometimes even showed his impatience without realizing it. Yet someone like him could easily have everything she lacked.

In class, Yu Ning was the complete opposite of Qi Yu. She was withdrawn and isolated, had no friends, and seemed strange. She appeared to drift outside the class, barely noticed by anyone.

It was Song Siyu's birthday, but there was no day off. Even without a chance to throw a birthday party, there were always people ready to make everything special for her.

The lights went out. Everyone gathered around Song Siyu, singing "Happy Birthday" and celebrating together, except Yu Ning.

As usual, Yu Ning sat alone in a dark corner, unnoticed.

As the candles went out, no one noticed Qi Yu slipping away from the crowd.

In the dark library, the moonlight outside the window was the only light.

Qi Yu braced both hands on the desk before Yu Ning and leaned down, their noses almost touching.

"When you make a wish on your birthday, someone will help make it come true. So what did you wish for?"

That's right. No one knew that Yu Ning and Song Siyu shared the same birthday.
