After Being Reborn, I Married the Foolish Prince to Bring Him Good Fortune

One imperial decree set the capital ablaze: Ruan Jiaojiao, the capital's foremost beauty, had been ordered to marry the dim-witted Second Prince, Su Qingchong, to bring him good fortune.

Everyone lamented that fate was cruel, mourning the beauty's misfortune.

Ruan Jiaojiao woke to her mother's sobs and opened her eyes to find that she had been reborn at eighteen.

In her past life, she had pouted and played the fool, pressuring her father, the chancellor, into persuading the emperor to change the decree and marry her to the man she loved, the First Prince, Su Yu.

Su Yu loved her so much that he couldn't bear to touch her, and often called her Jiao Jiao.

She corrected him, saying her name was Jiao Jiao, but Su Yu only smiled.

It wasn't until Su Yu ascended the throne and pardoned the late emperor's consorts that she saw the face that resembled hers by seven parts in ten.

Su Yu kissed that person and softly called them Jiao Jiao.

Only then did Ruan Jiaojiao understand that she was nothing more than a substitute.

Now, fortunate enough to live again, she sits before the mirror and arranges her makeup until she is breathtakingly beautiful.

Then she smiles, walks out the door, and accepts the decree to marry the prince and bring him good fortune.

Su Qing was born to the former empress. Though he was the Second Prince, the favored consort's interference meant he suffered humiliation and abuse from childhood.

Born within the vermilion walls of a noble household, he was trapped helplessly in a filthy mire.

To survive, he cut himself off from love and learned to pretend to be a fool.

Who would have thought that an imperial decree would bring the moonlight he'd yearned for day and night right to his side?

From then on, he plucked that bright moon from the sky and kept it for himself, where it became the moon in the palm of his hand alone.
