The Tragic Novel's Heroine Quits

Here's another lighthearted, satisfying read I'm planning to start: The Big Shot Only Wants to Cultivate Immortality. Synopsis at the very bottom.

A heavy rain makes An Wen realize she's the heroine of an angst novel. In the story, she's a wealthy heiress who loves the poor boy Qin Sheng with all her heart. Defying her family's objections, she throws herself into marrying the man she thinks she loves.

After the wedding, Qin Sheng uses An Wen's family's money to grow his business, and just when happiness seems within reach, everything changes. Qin Sheng stops coming home, often smells of other women, hangs up whenever she calls, and even lays hands on her, abusing her both physically and emotionally.

An Wen gives him her money, her heart, even her life, but all she gets in return is a family destroyed. And yet, even then, one tear shed at Qin Sheng's grave is enough for An Wen to forgive him. She becomes a ghost so she can stay by his side, forced into a happy ending.

An Wen, now with a will of her own: ... Heh.

Divorce. Pay me back. Get lost.

Qin Sheng says she'll regret it! That she still loves him! That she's just playing hard to get!

Before long, they discover that An Wen has been dumping huge quantities of Qin Sheng's company stock again and again, sending its price plunging until the company is almost delisted. Meanwhile, her father's company, which was on the verge of bankruptcy, turns its fortunes around and rises onto the new list of billionaires. She also keeps a pretty boy, Zhu Yuchuan, who's both handsome and obedient.

Qin Sheng: ???!!! I don't believe it! She's just trying to get my attention! That pretty boy is only there to make me jealous!

An Wen: Heh.

Zhu Yuchuan: Thanks for letting her go, big brother. Unlike you, who only care about work and other women, I only care whether Sis is happy. If you hadn't let her go, I wouldn't have had a chance. I may not have much money, but I'll work hard so I can support her one day.

Su Cheng: "Some kind of con artist. Attack!"

Lu Kuiyi takes out a huge amount of resources from her storage ring and asks again, "Would you say these betrothal gifts... I mean, these apprenticeship gifts are enough?"

Everyone: "Welcome, sister-in-law!"

Years later, Su Cheng finally learns that Lu Kuiyi really is a cultivator. It's just that... when she said she wanted to cultivate immortality with him, she really did mean just that.

Su Cheng pins Lu Kuiyi against his chest and asks, "How come you didn't mean it when you said we'd cultivate together?"

Lu Kuiyi smiles. "I've reached the peak of the Mahayana stage. I can get ready to return now."

Su Cheng: "You liar! I accepted the betrothal gifts, and they're nonrefundable. You think you can return the bride?"

Lu Kuiyi takes what she wants by force. (Not really.)
