Only after Mu Xinghai and Ruan Chen have had close, intimate contact four, five, six, seven, eight times does Mu Xinghai find out that Ruan Chen didn't invite him out to stargaze because he was gay and had a secret crush on him. Ruan Chen was his ex-girlfriend's simp and wanted to befriend him so he could persuade him to mend his ways. His ex-girlfriend was dating several people at once and keeping a few backup options on the hook. Ruan Chen was simply the dumbest of them. The girl said, “I think my boyfriend is cheating on me. I'm so upset I couldn't finish my homework,” and he believed every word, getting quietly mad on her behalf. He even wrote her papers and wanted to stand up for her. So when Ruan Chen blushes, trembling, and asks him, “Classmate, what do you think love is?” He's not confessing his love. He's confronting a scumbag. But Mu Xinghai has already turned himself gay. *Neither is gay to begin with; two straight guys turn each other gay. Theme: May all lovers end up together
