Jiang Nianshu accidentally opens a romance novel about a wife-chasing ex who has to make amends. The heroine has the exact same name as her.
She never would have known if she hadn't read it, but once she did, she was completely worked up.
The heroine has it so bad. She was blind from birth and grew up dependent on others, then was used as a pawn in a marriage alliance and pushed onto the hero, Qi Shi.
Worst of all, she falls in love with the one man she shouldn't: Qi Shi, who treats her like she's invisible.
Unable to bear reading the heroine's heartbreaking scenes, Jiang Nianshu flips straight to the ending.
Bad ending. Perfect~
Her happiness lasts for barely a second before she transmigrates into the tragic heroine.
Fortunately, she's always been strong-willed. Apart from being unable to see, Jiang Nianshu eats when she's hungry, sleeps when she's tired, and enjoys getting under Qi Shi's skin.
After spending some time with him, she realizes he's not as cold and heartless as the book made him out to be.
Then one day, Jiang Nianshu's sight suddenly returns.
Without a second thought, she runs straight to see Qi Shi.
She pushes the door open with a complicated mix of emotions and immediately spots him, surrounded by admirers like the star of the show.
Qi Shi lounges on the sofa, one leg crossed over the other, a cigarette held between two fingers, wearing a thoroughly insincere smile.
He's so handsome. All the elaborate descriptions in the book couldn't capture even a fraction of his looks.
But his casual words are every bit as hurtful.
Qi Shi says, "Why marry a blind woman? Obviously, to keep her at home as a shield. It's so much easier when she can't see. Just spend a little money to support her."
It's the first time Jiang Nianshu has misjudged someone, and she can't help feeling disappointed. So she tells Qi Shi to his face, "I don't want to be with you anymore."
After they split, she settles somewhere with beautiful mountains and clear waters to recover. She never expects Qi Shi to follow her.
She doesn't take him seriously. In fact, she's willing to see which of them runs out of patience first.
After trying again and again to win her back without success, Qi Shi sets aside all his pride, his eyes full of regret, and his words falling apart:
"I'll be your shield for the rest of my life. Please forgive me, okay?"
Theme: Love life
Does this have to be the case, where the heroine breaks off her connection with the hero and reunites because of her gratitude?
