Yan Hui's mission this time was to kill a physician who couldn't hurt a fly.
At the time, he had no idea that this was the person he had once sworn to protect for the rest of his life.
Years ago, disaster struck, and it was this daughter of a military family, herself the sole other survivor, who fought to carry him out of the sea of blood. In doing so, Ning Yan lost all her memories and every trace of her martial arts skills.
Years later, the former heir to a commandery prince had become a Heaven-ranked assassin, a name that made the entire martial world tremble.
To avenge himself, Yan Hui concealed his identity and served his enemy, devoting everything to laying his plans. He was even willing to sacrifice his own life.
All he wished was for her to remain safe.
Through countless long nights that tested his resolve, the only thing sustaining him was his promise to her:
“When the snow melts and old grudges fade, when spring brings warmth, we’ll return home together, hand in hand.”
