[Interstellar] Better to Pilot a Mecha Than Date

Xie Yi has the misfortune of transmigrating into a melodramatic interstellar ABO novel about a scumbag Alpha and a groveling pursuit after the breakup. The good news is that he's become the Beta older brother of the protagonist, with no extra organs to worry about. The Beta brother was originally engaged to the scumbag Alpha through an arranged marriage, but since their genders weren't compatible, the engagement was passed down to his Omega younger brother. In the original story, the older brother is the real deal, the moonlight beloved in a substitute romance involving the younger brother and his many substitutes. Once the love interest comes to his senses, the older brother is the first to end up in the crematorium, meaning he is so devastated by the breakup that he launches his mecha into the Zerg and blows himself up, taking them all with him. Xie Yi, after reading the original story: [Meme of a confused old man on the subway] I'm out of here. If I can pilot a mecha, why get mixed up in this ridiculous mess? Xie Yi turns around and changes his application. Instead of the military academy near home, the same one as the scumbag, he chooses a rival academy of equal renown and gets out of there fast. Ji Huaisheng is the king of the Imperial Military Academy. His attendance is always dead last, but his combat ranking is always first. A few months after the new students arrive, he realizes that someone has matched his perfect training score, despite having skipped nearly half the semester. The spectators are all waiting to see when the two will fight and settle who's better. But when they finally arrange a match a month later, their usual trash talk before the fight goes like this: Ji Huaisheng: Dating or fighting? Pick one. Xie Yi: Only kids have to choose. Adults obviously pick fighting! Theme: Realizing your own worth
