Life After Unemployment: Ordinary and Otherwise

The ancient Nine Heavens Mystic Thunder is said to be the strongest of tribulation lightning.

And Xuan Lei is the mightiest, the ninth bolt of the Nine Heavens Mystic Thunder.

Neither god nor demon, she is not bound by rules and roams freely between heaven and earth.

When Xuan Lei was first born, her father, the Heavenly Dao, sharply criticized her for being inflexible and lacking compassion.

Xuan Lei argued that she wasn't human in the first place. Then, while her father looked on in anguish, she continued striking down the chosen prodigies he had his eye on.

Tens of thousands of years later, the Heavenly Dao's laws continued to turn, the world's spiritual energy dwindled, and those who ascended became few and far between.

Xuan Lei lost her job.

Gossip travels fast across the Seven Realms.

It didn't take long for word of Xuan Lei's unemployment to spread.

Old acquaintances whom Xuan Lei had once struck down came by, eager to laugh at her.

Seeing how much her personality had changed, they were shocked. "What happened to you?"

Xuan Lei looked at the bunch of idiots. "What do you mean? (￢_￢)"
