Synopsis

One hundred and thirty years ago, a mysterious fog swept across the globe, bringing “the awakening of the wild.” Humanity entered the “Era of Beastification.” One hundred years ago, the world was thrown into chaos. Disasters struck one after another, extreme weather became the norm, food production plummeted, and technological progress ground to a halt. Humanity spent thirty years adapting to its altered bodies, even developing forms such as partial beastification and full beastfolk transformation. But no one ever imagined that what awaited them was not a new age, but a crossroads between life and death. But nineteen-year-old Tong Xiaonan (species: penguin) and Nie Bingyuan (species: polar bear) haven’t started thinking about humanity’s fate yet. They’re first-year students at Fourth Beastification Awakening University, a century-old institution. Tong Xiaonan’s biggest problem: My friend really thinks I only see him as a buddy. Nie Bingyuan’s biggest problem: My friend indulges me, spoils me, and puts up with everything I do, but he always looks at me like I’m an idiot. This is the final book in the Great Fog trilogy. It is entirely fictional, so please don’t draw parallels with reality. Polar bear (gong) and penguin (shou) Theme: Environmental issues cannot wait.
