Novel blurb: On her wedding night, after a blissful evening together, Cheng Xiaoyan has a nightmare.
In the dream, she sees a memoir titled The Female Tycoon Dong Jiaying.
The book tells of a fifteen-year-old girl named Dong Jiaying who is adopted by a family in a place called Hongxing Brigade.
Everyone in the village loves her. The family that adopts her dotes on her, tightening their belts so they can feed and provide for her.
Later, when the college entrance exam is reinstated, Dong Jiaying, a village girl turned phoenix, soars to success.
To repay Hongxing Brigade, the year she passes the college entrance exam she advises the villagers to cut down all the peach trees on the mountain and plant more fashionable varieties.
But the new saplings fail to adapt to the soil and climate, and all of them die, causing the village heavy losses.
Dong Jiaying sheds a few tears.
Later, Dong Jiaying persuades the villagers to accept an investment from a shoe factory.
The villagers all get jobs at the factory, and everyone earns money and celebrates.
Unfortunately, before long the village's mountains are no longer green, its water is no longer clean, and its children no longer smile.
A few years later, the villagers begin falling ill one after another. Those who can't afford treatment have no choice but to go home and wait to die.
The village, once home to thousands, gradually falls into decline.
By then Dong Jiaying has graduated, and she sheds a few more tears. To avenge the family that adopted her, she finally rises up and fights, reaching a compensation agreement with the shoe factory.
With the compensation money paid for that family's deaths, she begins her journey to becoming a wealthy investor and tycoon.
At the end of her memoir, she writes these heartfelt words: I dedicate this memoir to Hongxing Brigade, in gratitude for raising me.
After reading the whole memoir, Cheng Xiaoyan realizes that her husband's family is the one that adopted Dong Jiaying. Cheng Xiaoyan: Why, thank you!
When she wakes up, Cheng Xiaoyan decides to fight back and make sure neither her family nor the village becomes a stepping stone on Dong Jiaying's path to wealth. She will find the village a sustainable path to development.

[Coming soon: The Female Truck Driver of the 1970s]
The moment An Hua opens her eyes after transmigrating to the 1970s, she finds her truck-driver father has lost a leg in an accident, while her mother spends all day sobbing with her three-year-old little brother in her arms. Her biased grandparents and greedy uncle are already at the door, ready to demand her father's job.
An Hua can only laugh. It's just a truck driver's position. Who says girls can't drive big trucks?
So the seventeen-year-old climbs out of bed, throws that awful family out, rolls up her sleeves, and joins the county transport team as an assistant mechanic.
At the time, the drivers say, "Hmph. Women driving big trucks? She should go home and get married and have children."
Later, An Hua tosses her freshly issued driver's license right in their faces.
The sore-faced drivers say, "Hmph. That woman is bound to get into an accident sooner or later."
After a year on the road without a single accident, An Hua calmly accepts the annual Safe Driver Award from her workplace.
Little by little, the drivers realize that this young woman, An Hua, really is something else.
She never has an accident, and she can fix any problem with the truck. She always finishes deliveries ahead of schedule. On top of that, she can often get her hands on rare goods that no one else can find.
After economic reforms begin, An Hua has become the transport team's leader. When the team faces dissolution, she steps forward without hesitation and starts an independent business with several like-minded colleagues.
Riding the wave of an opening market, An Hua soon starts a logistics company.
Taking orders, assigning jobs, arranging transport, and helping friends in trouble, An Hua leads a fulfilling and carefree life.
Before she knows it, her company has grown and grown, until she becomes a logistics magnate known throughout the country.
When she accepts the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Logistics Association, An Hua puts her hands on her hips. "Heh. Let's see who still dares to say women can't drive big trucks."
