Beast Taming: The Beginning of the Calamity

[Upcoming: After Graduation, I'll Go Home to Farm, but Then Spiritual Qi Revives] [This is an apocalypse story where everyone learns about the coming end of the world in advance and scrambles to prepare supplies, only to discover that the apocalypse is more complicated than they thought.] [Blurb] Qin Sang had a feeling that something strange had been going on lately! First, her family's roast goose shop started getting orders nonstop. The customers were buying in bulk, dozens or even hundreds at a time. Then the tenant upstairs wanted to remodel his apartment in a prison style. And then her ne'er-do-well cousin suddenly showed up, trying to force her family to sell their ancestral jade. After failing, he threatened that they'd be on their knees begging him within a month. An avid reader of novels, Qin Sang immediately sensed what was going on. She began keeping an eye on customers at the shops nearby and paying attention to online trends. Before long, she spotted the unusual signs and decided to follow the crowd and stock up. With her family's ancestral roast-goose storage space, stockpiling was much easier for her than for everyone else. But soon Qin Sang noticed even stranger things. First, her second aunt from the village somehow put away a fifty-pound sack of rice out of thin air. Then her upstairs neighbor went out every day to buy things, but always came back empty-handed. Yet all kinds of food smells regularly drifted out of her home. There were plenty of people like that online, too. Just as things were about to descend into chaos, the authorities stepped in. Their announcement confirmed all of Qin Sang's suspicions. A month later, the apocalyptic disasters would begin. Many kinds of jade could be bound as storage spaces through a drop of blood. Once all this was made public, a massive nationwide campaign to stockpile supplies and survive the apocalypse began. But as the disasters everyone had imagined arrived one after another, things grew even stranger. First came insect plagues, then the evolution of living creatures, and after that, an invasion by interstellar insectoids. All kinds of disasters and secret realms appeared in succession, and humanity uncovered the planet's secrets as they fought to save themselves. In the end, the world of beast taming was revived as humanity resisted its enemies. Theme: Strive tirelessly and work hard through adversity.
