Bai Yuan is a cannon-fodder character, but his methods are way too protagonist-like.
To cure Bai Yuan of his habit of stealing the spotlight, the Lujian Livestream Bureau assigns him an unusual livestream mission:
"We're giving you a high-risk, puzzle-solving livestream. Go pit your wits against four bosses."
Bai Yuan: High risk? Looks like I'm stealing the show again.
The Bureau: "Forgot to mention, all the bosses are old acquaintances of yours."

Bai Yuan can't help opening the four bosses' character profiles.
Boss No. 1: Sleeps by day, prowls by night. Every so often, a suspicious pair of sharp fangs shows. His greatest hobby is collecting rare and precious things. Jewelry, for instance. Bai Yuan, for instance. Dangerous monsters, too...
Boss No. 2: Loves water. Hates the world. Has a magnificent tail covered in dense silver scales. Whenever his misanthropy flares up, he won't let anyone see him, even when he's right in front of you.
Boss No. 3: A strange painter trapped in the early twentieth century. Seated in a frozen studio, he never stops painting for even a second. Beneath his brush lies an unsolved murder.
Boss No. 4: Appears and disappears without a trace. Often hides in closets, by windows, behind you, under the bed... and on your person. He can cling to you in countless bizarre ways, but catching him is even harder than catching that fish above.
Bai Yuan has to figure out how to capture them all and make them help him complete a series of high-risk livestream missions.
Bai Yuan: Are they all this creepy?
And they're really all old friends.
