[Crossover] Starting with a Dazai Cat

Supernatural enthusiast Ju Akiko gets transported into a horror game:

[Clear the game, uncover the truth, and return to reality; or stay here forever.]

At first, she is full of confidence, but Kayako and Sadako from the tutorial beat her into despair. So she decisively spends money on gacha pulls to stay alive.

From the start, she gets the guaranteed SSR on her ten-pull: a black cat wrapped in bandages makes a dazzling entrance. "I know full well how scary, bizarre, vicious, cunning, and devious I am, meow!"*

Ju Akiko is briefly bewildered, then claps with delight. "A chuuni cat! I'm in!"

The chuuni cat loves causing trouble, rushing headlong toward death every day and making an already dangerous game even more thrilling: dragging a ghost girl into a lovers' suicide, asking a spirit pen how it died, waking up to find its neck in a noose...

System: Want us to switch your cat?

Ju Akiko: Maybe, but he's just so cute! Come on, repeat after me: Don't hurt him, don't abandon him!

But some bosses are too much even for Dazai Osamu. Before long, cat and owner are both being pinned to the ground and beaten. :)

Ju Akiko (furious and helpless): Have I not spent enough money?! Pull again!

[System: Insufficient balance. Would you like to spend the player's affection instead?]

Ju Akiko gets a bad feeling. "What affection???"

Dazai Osamu, who only wants to finish the game and kill himself in peace, makes the decision for her: "Pull!"

And so...

The blindfold cat waves a paw, and the cursed spirits vanish into thin air.

The calico cat transforms on the spot, and the yokai bow their heads and behave.

The bow-tie cat balances a soccer ball on its head, and the culprit kneels down to face justice.

As Ju Akiko's affection for Dazai Meow keeps dropping on and off, she gradually loses interest in petting him. The quality of life of the Dazai she once treated like a master takes a nosedive.

Dazai Osamu, loudly: Wait! What happened to crab for every meal and fresh bandages every day?

Ju Akiko tilts her head. "No can do. Your affection level only earns you canned cat food and fresh bandages once a month~"

The cat feels wronged.

The cat is furious.

The cat swipes the gacha screen away: "I'm done clearing the game. I'll just die for love with you here, miss!"
