Hello, my name is Fujiwara Chiki. I'm an ordinary male high school student.
I have parents who love me
--and they died in a bizarre accident.
I live in a convenient, technologically advanced era
--and I transmigrated.
I have a best friend
--but not anymore.
Let me introduce myself again.
Hello, my name is Fujiwara Chiki. I used to be called (and inhabit the body of) Gokurakumaru. I once served as a castle lord, and my former best friend was the King of Curses.
What? Why am I talking about everything in the past tense?
Because now I'm just an ordinary male high school student.
The Warring States era, where all manner of demons run rampant.
At some point, a rumor began circulating among the yokai:
[A half-demon castle lord who looks human is cruel and powerful. He has a castle that can move, where he keeps countless humans as emergency rations.]
[The lord is searching for a certain place. They say it holds a powerful treasure on a par with the Four Souls Jewel.]
[The lord and his best friend, the King of Curses, plan to join forces and rule the world.]
The person in question: Don't believe rumors, and don't spread them.
Meanwhile, modern-day jujutsu sorcerers discovered that a mysterious figure had suddenly appeared in their records, beside the King of Curses, and even... on the street.
The jujutsu world: !!!
Fujiwara Chiki, whose school had just been blown up: ...
It's been a while, and my former best friend has turned into a pink-haired exhibitionist. Should I pretend I don't know him?
[Narrated in third person]
P.S.:
1. The words "best friend" need quotation marks. They have a life-and-death bond that consists of mutually wanting the other to end up in a coffin.
2. The protagonist transmigrates a second time. He became best friends with the big guy before he became the King of Curses. The modern-day storyline comes in the middle and later parts.
3. The original story has been heavily altered, but the main storyline won't change much in the early chapters.
4. The protagonist is a sort of coming-of-age character, growing from a high school boy into a great demon king (not really).
5. The author's writing skills are limited, so just read for fun. If you're not enjoying it, little darlings, stop reading in time so you don't ruin your good mood (sending love).
Theme: To live well, you must work hard to create a more exciting life
