Mu Ge was an NPC in the full-dive game Dreamlike Mountains and Seas. One day, he awakened.
He discovered that no matter what he did, he always ended up dying in some bizarre way.
After dying too many times, Mu Ge finally accepted that he was cannon fodder and decided to just let things happen.
After all, he was going to die anyway. Why live in fear? He was going to enjoy himself!
So players began to notice:
On a cliffside, an NPC clutched a pile of glittering treasures and fought off the players' all-out bombardment by himself.
Inside a castle, an NPC sat primly on his own little stool and repeatedly revived a certain fallen player.
In the forest, an NPC rode a limited-edition divine dragon, calmly floating over the heads of a team battle raging below.
In the deep sea, an NPC wielded a limited-edition item and instantly killed the dungeon boss without so much as changing his expression.
The players were so dazed they nearly burst into tears as a group. Were even NPCs this ridiculously cool these days?
No! He had to be a player!
They all rushed to extend an olive branch to Mu Ge:
Please let us join your team!
Please protect us, mighty one!
Please let us cling to your coattails!
Mu Ge: ???
Note: A story about a protagonist who does whatever he wants in a game, wandering around and enjoying the scenery, and accidentally becoming a god (not really).
