Dust Carries Qingchuan, Longing for Yaoli

He was once the ruler of Beiyuan, but during a battle, he offered his own legs to the heavens in exchange for divine soldiers descending from the sky, turning defeat into victory and protecting his homeland. Though the battle was won, he was left bedridden and had no choice but to pass the throne to his nephew. He is Lian Qingchuan, now the ruler of Beiyuan.

During that battle, Yaoli, then a little princess of the demon realm, witnessed Lian Qingchuan's deeds with her own eyes. From that day on, she fell for the mortal.

Fortunately, during one trip to the mortal world, she met Rong Lingyin, the princess of the Eastern Sea, who was on her way to Beiyuan for a political marriage. Yaoli and Rong Lingyin made a deal: Yaoli would take her place and enter the palace to wed Lian Qingchuan.

After entering the palace, Yaoli was ignored by Lian Qingchuan for days. But she refused to give up, and her persistence finally warmed his icy heart. Just after the two had confessed their feelings, a new disaster struck.

Lian Qingchuan was persecuted by his nephew, and with his life hanging in the balance, Yaoli tried to prolong his life. That's when she discovered that Lian Qingchuan had an immortal root. With no time to think, she realized that, as a member of the demon realm, the only way to save him was to go to the Nine Heavens Jade Pool and undergo forty-nine days of refinement to prolong his life.

But though Lian Qingchuan returned, how could a love between a god and a demon exist in this world? What would become of them?
