The Princess's Consort Is a Fine Ride

In the Great Yu Kingdom, twins of opposite sexes are considered auspicious, while twins of the same sex are seen as an abomination.

Consort Mian had endured ten months of pregnancy and dodged all sorts of schemes in the palace. After nearly giving her life to deliver her babies, she looked into the swaddling cloths and...

Unfortunately, they were twins, and both were boys.

“Your Highness, what are we going to do?” her trusted palace maid asked anxiously.

Consort Mian, holding on with the last of her strength, looked from one baby to the other. At last, she summoned her remaining energy and pointed at one of them.

“From today on, he... she is a girl!”

Thus, the infant Xiao Qi was declared a girl by his mother, and from then on became an auspicious child of Great Yu, the emperor's most beloved “daughter.”

After painstakingly hiding his sex until the age of eighteen, the old emperor eagerly prepared to find his beloved daughter a husband.

Xiao Qi: “...”

No way. He couldn't marry a clever and capable young man, because the guy would see through his disguise in no time! He had to find some brainless playboy, preferably one who was unloved at home, frail and sickly, and likely to drop dead at any moment. Someone who looked easy to ride... easy to bully.

That way, he could become a widow in no time, and no one would discover his secret!

But...

After finally finding someone like that, he turned out to be all show on the outside and full of substance within. Not only did he see through Xiao Qi's disguise, he also rode Xiao Qi!

Consort Yuan Zhao casually subdued the flailing Xiao Qi while “weakly” coughing, then smiled. “Does Your Highness think I am too weak to serve you properly? It seems I will have to try harder.”

Xiao Qi burst into tears. “Stop trying so hard! You're way too strong. Even a horse isn't as strong as you.”

Tsundere shou vs. scheming gong. A bickering couple you'll want to root for~
