[Screenshots of all promotional copy have been saved! No unauthorized use, imitation, plagiarism, or reposting!] [You don't need to know Go to enjoy this story. It's easy to get into, a wish-fulfillment novel! An alternate world!] [A revenge-seeking female Go player x a scheming young general] [1] Chu Yiyi, the youngest world Go champion of the 21st century, transmigrates. She lands in a dynasty where Go is all the rage. Go tournaments matter more than the imperial exams, Go players outrank officials, and players who pass the Go official examinations attract even more attention than the top imperial exam graduate of their year. The catch? She's a woman, and all those privileges belong to men. A woman's only worth is in embroidery and reading, waiting for a suitable man to marry her, then bearing eight children in one go and reaching the pinnacle of life. Chu Yiyi, who has grown up with modern ideas: ? [2] After transmigrating, Chu Yiyi becomes Chu Hu Yue, the youngest daughter of the Chu family. Her father is a minor official who has just been transferred to the capital, and her mother is the lady of the house who manages the household. With no concubines fighting for favor and no feuding siblings, Chu Yiyi thinks her life is going pretty smoothly. But Heaven always seems to slap her just when she's feeling most pleased with herself: the body she has transmigrated into belongs to a girl infamous far and wide for being an idiot, the sort everyone in the neighborhood goes out of their way to avoid. Chu Yiyi: ... Then she lets loose completely. When women are forbidden to play Go in public, she disguises herself as a man and storms the Go world. She never loses a match and has no equal on the board... When women are forbidden from taking Go lessons, she opens her own school for girls and accepts only female players... When women are forbidden from competing in the national championship, she becomes the nightmare of every famous Go player. Whenever her name comes up, they all turn pale with fear, as if they've seen a ghost... Later, when she's at the height of her fame, she casts off her male disguise and appears in the Go world before an enormous crowd, dressed in a crimson-red gown. Every Go player watching is instantly in an uproar... Bystander A: Isn't that the Chu family's idiot? Bystander B: What the... She's that good at Go? What the... She won? Bystander C: Lord Chu, your idiot daughter is tearing up the Go world! "In this rotten dynasty, everyone is numb and self-serving. Men and women are not born equal, and the nobility treat human lives like weeds. I will overturn this dynasty by my own strength. I will rise to the very top of power and prove that women are neither weeds nor fish trapped in a pond." [Reading Guide] 1. The author is terrible at writing promotional copy. The general idea is a strong female lead and a satisfying power fantasy (this is BG romance!!!! Important!). It's my first time writing an ancient-world transmigration story, and it's an alternate world! Until the heroine willingly takes off her male disguise, nobody knows she's a woman except the male lead (the reason will be explained in the story, as planned by the author). 2. I'm a Go player in name only, but I'm learning. There may be mistakes, so feel free to point them out in the comments. This little author will listen to suggestions and make revisions. Thanks for reading, and let's treat each other with respect. 3. The male lead knows from the beginning that the heroine is disguised as a man, and he knows all her plans. She disguises herself as a man to build her career. 4. The story follows traditional Go rules: fixed placements and territory scoring. The rules have been simplified for the story, with many personal interpretations. 5. Former title: Winning the Imperial Succession with Go 6. Nobody is a perfect character, including the heroine, who grows over the course of the story. Please be aware of this. 7. This is an old story being reposted. The original is in the author's column and has been submitted for removal from rankings. 8. The dynasty is my own creation. No historical nitpicking.
