Su Huan was passionately battling someone while playing Honor of Kings. He was so angry that he had a heart attack, and everything went black before his eyes.
When he opened his eyes again, he had somehow been kicked out of the human race and turned into a soft, fluffy little white fox.
Fine. If he wasn't human anymore, so be it. At least he was still alive. Su Huan was the sort who took things as they came, with maxed-out survival skills.
Then one day, when he accidentally fell into a man's residence, he realized that none of this was simple.
He had actually transmigrated into the melodramatic romance novel he'd read as a clueless teenager, Temptation in the Imperial Palace. And that man was the novel's devoted second male lead, a sickly, gentle beauty who had once been even more popular with readers than the protagonists: the brilliant and calculating Prime Minister, Yue Yunlan.
The fox that had accidentally fallen from the high wall became his pet. And it was "fortunate" enough to witness the "demon" beneath his gentle, kind exterior.
The fox trembled in fear. Who on earth had said he was gentle and kind? Come out and take a beating if you dare! Do you have any idea what a mess you've gotten this fox into?
When Su Huan learned the truth, he wanted to slap himself a few times. That's what you get for reading anything and everything. Now you're paying for it.
But still, the palace gossip was, well, delicious. It was worth repeatedly skirting the line between life and death for.
Little Scene 1:
The little fox wagged his fluffy big tail, holding fragrant, sweet melon seeds in both paws. He crunched away as he watched the male and female leads' passionate interactions with great enjoyment, having the time of his life.
Suddenly, the throat of fate was in a chokehold. Su Huan looked down: long, slender fingers, smooth as jade. A dream come true for anyone with a thing for hands.
He turned around full of anticipation. A smiling face, bright as a flower, drew near and rubbed against his soft, fluffy tail. Every hair on his tail instantly stood on end. He wanted to run, but couldn't. As he passively resigned himself to his fate, he thought,
"Good thing I'm a little fairy fox and don't have fox odor. Otherwise, wouldn't this man tear me limb from limb?"
The little fox knew that this man looked devastatingly beautiful, with red lips and white teeth, bright, charming eyes, and a fragile appearance like easily shattered glass. In reality, he was unbelievably vicious.
The white fox rolled his eyes and could only helplessly watch his melon patch gradually disappear into the distance.
Little Scene 2:
"Y-You... what are you going to do? I'm warning you, don't come any closer!"
The little fox, now in human form, nervously swallowed and clutched his collar tightly. He huddled pitifully in the corner of the bed, with nowhere left to retreat.
His clear, icy-blue eyes glistened with moisture, as if veiled in mist. His long silver-white hair spread across the floor, disheveled with sweat. His soft, white fox ears quivered with nerves.
Su Huan's face flushed crimson as he looked up at the man steadily approaching him. The man's deep, shadowy gaze made the fox feel both familiar and strange.
"You said we were only staying under the same roof... didn't you?"
Yue Yunlan lowered his head, his eyes reflecting the frightened fox beauty looking up at him. He gently kissed his anxiously quivering eyelashes and the tears at the corners of his eyes.
"But... Xiao Huan, I think... we could make it a little less innocent."
Because I want to have you, the way night embraces the moon, and the way... a moth flies into a flame. Even if it means being reduced to ashes, I would do it without hesitation.
