Blurb:

Qi Xi is beautiful and a top law student,

with a life that has gone smoothly in every way.

The only thing she's unhappy about is all the trouble her rival, Gu Yan, has caused her.

In their four years as classmates, Gu Yan stole countless opportunities and awards from Qi Xi.

Just before she was about to take the stage and speak as an outstanding graduate, Qi Xi received a letter from Gu Yan, handed to her with an expressionless face.

A love letter that was practically sexual harassment?!

It was boldly signed: Gu Yan.

Furious, Qi Xi changed her speech on the spot, opening with the letter and calling for society to respect women.

Then she launched into a passionate denunciation:

“Gu Yan, you have the right to harbor a secret crush, but confessing like this is a crime!”

“I'm someone you'll never catch up to in this lifetime!”

But after finishing her speech and stepping down from the stage, Qi Xi discovered a horrifying truth.

On the back of the disgusting letter, after the signature, there was another line: “'s roommate Zhang Jialiang.”

Put together, the signature read: “Gu Yan's roommate Zhang Jialiang”...

Gu Yan hadn't written the letter...

Not long afterward, Qi Xi received an offer from Jinghe Law Firm.

She was selected to join the team of the firm's most formidable female partner, Partner Gu, and would have a fellow alumnus as a teammate!

On her first day at work, Qi Xi was summoned to the female partner's office.

“Since you went to the same school as my younger brother, do you know who slandered and defamed him at graduation?”

“As his older sister, I have to defend his rights.”

The partner parted her red lips. “I forgot to mention, my younger brother is Gu Yan, your future teammate. You know him, right?”

“...”

“Now, I want the name, national ID number, and phone number of the woman who slandered my brother, within five minutes.”

“This is your first assignment: due diligence.”

“...”
