I'm a Background NPC

Nanfeng was reborn into the world of a full-dive game called "Mission," as an insignificant background character, commonly known as an NPC nobody. All the game's storylines and quests had nothing to do with her. Nanfeng didn't mind. Being a happy little slacker wasn't so bad. But when the new server Nanfeng lived in opened and players flooded into the game, they brought immeasurable changes. The soldier who smiled and greeted Nanfeng had to die once every day, then start the next day again with no memory of what happened. The gentle priestess who treated Nanfeng's wounds was a sacrificial character in the storyline. She died just like that, never to be revived. And the old woman who made a living selling flowers had her data permanently deleted as a bug, all because a player decided to run a pointless experiment. Nanfeng watched the people she knew disappear one after another. But because of her [Always Friendly] NPC status, she couldn't even kill players to make trouble for them. Little Nanfeng clenched her fists angrily and grabbed her neighbor's hand. "Come on! Let's do something big!" First, she was going to wake up her playmate, who had started selling kites day after day ever since the players arrived. "These kites are too cheap. You're not making any money. Raise the price. They have to buy them no matter what!" And so, a profiteer named Nanfeng appeared in "Mission." Wherever she showed up, prices went up. Most importantly, the NPCs became crafty too. Nanfeng thought her little neighbor was wonderful in every way. They could be profiteers together, protect everyone else together, study together, and grow stronger together. Most importantly, they were both ordinary NPCs in this game. Until one day... Nanfeng and her neighbor fled for their lives hand in hand. Behind them was the server's number-one player guild, chasing them and cursing all the while. "Why are you running, Boss? Aren't you supposed to be waiting for us in the dungeon?!" Nanfeng: What dungeon? What Boss? What does any of this have to do with us? We're just perfectly ordinary [Permanently Friendly NPCs]! Her little friend coughed awkwardly. The name above their head flickered wildly under Nanfeng's astonished gaze, finally settling on a dazzling shade of red. Nanfeng stared at her friend in shock. So the biggest Boss in this stage had been right beside me all along! Bonus scene: Nanfeng: Why have they been looking for you lately? Boss: No idea. Maybe they want to make a deal with me?
