My World Has Only Cats

One morning, I woke up and drew back my curtains as usual, only to see five pitch-black skyscrapers in the distance, clearly in violation of the rules.

And the streets were filled with nothing but cats.

Black ones, white ones, yellow ones, calicos...

They came in all shapes and sizes, but there was no doubt: every one of them was a cat.

What was going on?

Was I dreaming?

With that thought, I lay back down.

Just then, someone knocked on the door.

When I opened it, I saw a handsome cat with black fur, amber eyes, bandages wrapped around it, a camel-colored little trench coat, and a green gem hanging around its neck.

"Hello, I'm a member of the detective agency upstairs. I haven't seen you around before."

Then the cat spoke.

My innocent worldview took a hit.

I pointed at it, dumbfounded, trying to speak and then stopping, stopping and then trying to speak again.

"Sir? Could it be that my handsomeness has bewitched you? I'm only interested in beautiful ladies, though~"

It swished its tail, looking very cute.

Who could possibly be interested in a cat?!

Later: I take it all back.
