Synopsis:
In May, May jumped on the trend. Like the protagonist of a hot-blooded anime, she was hit by a car and transmigrated to another world.
She bound herself to a game System and became a game tester.
This was a dating game called "Merman Simulator," a romance-and-collecting game with a gacha mechanic. Players could draw cards to obtain lovers.
Once you drew a character card, there was no need to win them over. Their affection was maxed from the start, and they were yours for the taking.
To boost the testers' enthusiasm, the System gave May a custom banner. Every character card in it featured one of her favorite characters!
Best of all, the cards appeared as bionic robots. They played their original characters according to the programming in their chips and had no self-awareness!
In other words, as long as May was lucky enough, she could have a whole collection of perfectly replicated figures, each with maxed-out affection for their owner, all on autopilot.
For a shut-in with mild social anxiety, this was practically heaven-sent!
May, the luckiest gacha player alive: "Yay!"
She thought she was about to revive in another world and reach the pinnacle of life, but thanks to the malice of the universe, her favorite characters were dumped right beside her, in the form of cats.
And so the real characters saw their counterparts from another world get cheated on by a player with a whole pond of fish.
They even discovered that after being cheated on, those counterparts were still perfectly happy to stay in that person's harem.

May, queen of the harem: "Uh..."
A collection of figures doesn't count as having a harem, right? :)
Even though my heart is shattered into countless pieces, every single piece loves each of you equally! What's wrong with liking someone?! [shouting]

As a tester, May's job was to beat the game, unlock every achievement, and complete a game review report.
To do the job better, May signed up for a harem training course. After n months, she finally graduated.
May emerged from seclusion and got straight to work:
Right under [Geto Suguru]'s nose, she sent [Gojo Satoru] a date invitation.
After drinking with [Nakahara Chuuya], she went clubbing with [Dazai Osamu].
After having [Nanami Kento] walk her home, she ate a late-night snack at home with [Kunikida Doppo].
May's moves were silky smooth. The odds of things going wrong were low, if the original characters themselves hadn't been dumped into this world.
And yet...
The real characters, who had witnessed everything: "..."

★ (Cat POV)
Kunikida never expected to turn into a cat and transmigrate to another world.
At least a kind young woman took him in.
Later, he discovered that this seemingly well-behaved, innocent young woman was a player with a whole harem.
He watched as she effortlessly juggled the men, sweet-talking them until each one was convinced he was the only one.
Among the men she tricked were two people Kunikida knew, or rather, counterparts of people he knew.
When he saw [Dazai] get cheated on, Kunikida felt incredibly conflicted. It wasn't a pleasant feeling, but he really did think, "So now it's your turn, huh?"
After watching the young woman pull off one familiar NTR after another, Kunikida was so shocked that he'd gone numb. Just as he thought he could calmly face whatever happened next...
A blond man with a little braid opened the door for the young woman and said, "Welcome home."
Kunikida: "?????"
So I'm the clown after all!
[Please read: Important warnings]
1. The cards have all been given the setting "deeply in love with the player." Their affection is locked at 100, and the depth of their love can be compared to the Guardians' loyalty to Ainz Ooal Gown. [Emphasis]
2. All the cards' out-of-character behavior is caused by this setting. Every figure follows it, so there may be behavior that makes them seem like love-struck fools. [Warning]
(The out-of-character behavior this setting causes is so extreme that Hisoka from the original series would be disgusted enough to gag if he saw card [Hisoka] acting like a lovesick fool.)
Some cards may even tolerate the heroine cheating on them because of this setting. [Warning]
3. The cards are all bionic robots. They play their original characters according to the programming in their chips. They have no will of their own and cannot develop feelings.
4. The game cards are fake, but the other world May lives in is real. This world is Hunter x Hunter's world, and later, the cards she draws will turn it into a pseudo-crossover world. (Cuckoo will explain this in detail in the author's note for Chapter 1.)
5. Since the main setting is the Hunter world, the native characters from Hunter won't turn into cats. They'll appear in human form.
6. No pairing. The heroine won't fall in love with the cards or make a move on the real characters. She'll only mess with the real characters.
7. In short, it's extremely, extremely out of character! Cuckoo has completely let loose.
8. I can't think of anything else. Please watch out for anything that bothers you, and if you feel uncomfortable while reading, leave right away. Cuckoo is thin-skinned and welcomes corrections and suggestions, but not criticism or personal attacks. And you can leave without telling me.
9. The synopsis has been slightly revised, but the core idea is unchanged. Also, this is just a silly story about messing with the characters, with no complicated plot. If you're okay with all that, jump in and laugh along with Cuckoo.
10. The cover is May. Jinjiang's 200 x 280 size requirement made it blurry, but the high-resolution original is on Weibo. Search Weibo for Jinjiang Zhangyu Wan.
