His Wife Keeps Pushing Him to Improve

Meng Xiangjun transmigrates, and for a better quality of life, she has no choice but to take on the task of earning money herself.

Later, to expand her trade routes, she goes to Ancheng, where she discovers that the richest man in the city has declared: "I seek a virtuous wife. Whoever can get my eldest son, Qin, to study properly will be welcomed as his principal wife and given shops as a gift."

The words "richest man" catch her attention.

So she goes for it without hesitation.

Qin Zheng'an is a spoiled playboy who loves having fun. How could he possibly study properly?

When he meets Meng Xiangjun, he is taken in by the conditions she proposes. He thinks he will still be able to do whatever he likes after they marry, but he never expects to fall into the trap of studying.

After finally passing the imperial examination to become a licentiate, Qin Zheng'an brags to Meng Xiangjun, but Meng Xiangjun only wants to make money and has no time for him.

Qin: "Why are you ignoring me?"

Meng Xiangjun looks up and glances at him. "Will paying attention to you make me money?"

Qin (angrily): "I'm an honest official now. Ever heard of official-business collusion? Hurry up and ask me for favors, got it?"

Meng: "..."

Qin (freaking out): "Why have you gone off to farm? What happened to going into business? What about the sea trade we talked about?!"

Holding the newly acquired potatoes, Meng Xiangjun says, "An official should care about the people. I'm doing this for your sake, so get over here and work!"

Qin: "Why are you so fierce? Fine, I'll work!"

Theme: Independence and self-reliance.
