Cen Xi likes X. She likes how quickly and calmly he solves problems with his lips pursed. She likes how coldly he turns down girls who confess to him. She even likes it when he slams the door and walks away without a second thought.
Well, he is good-looking!
“Really? You like X just because he’s good-looking?” her friend prattled on beside her. Cen Xi said nothing, unwrapped a lollipop, and popped it into her mouth.
The rooftop of the school building was huge. In the distance, a tall person and a shorter one stood together. The boy held a stack of books while the girl smiled and fed him something.
They looked like a couple, Cen Xi thought. Then she bit down and crushed the lollipop, shouting in their direction, “Of, course, I, do!”
She startled them, just as she’d hoped.
X turned around, but Cen Xi wore an innocent expression, as if nothing had happened. She waved at him cheerfully, then ran off, laughing.
X looked at her with cold indifference.
He recognized her as Cen Xi from the next class, the girl whose smile was dazzling. He also remembered that she was close with lots of boys and often changed boyfriends.
To X:
Hey! I gave myself to you a long time ago. Please accept me, and whatever you do, don’t give me back!
*The heroine is a fussy, coy little minx, very, very slutty.
*The hero is twisted, selfish, and lacking in empathy, a refined egoist who’s great at putting on an act.
*Skewed values and a collapsed sense of morality.
Theme: I just like you, that’s all
