A Socially Anxious Person Transmigrates into Everyone's Favorite

Ying Xiaoyu had always been quiet and socially anxious. He was the kind of boy who went unnoticed among other boys and couldn't get along with the guys his age.

He actually envied boys who were sunny, played basketball, and got along with everyone their age. Unlike them, he didn't have a single male friend.

One day, he transmigrated into a book and became a character with the same name. He had no idea whether this character was a lead or a supporting role, or what kind of story he was in.

But he soon realized that the Ying Xiaoyu in the book, now himself, was surrounded by lots and lots of boys.

They all had different personalities, but each of them would go out of their way to befriend him.

Ying Xiaoyu was thrilled. Weren't these exactly the kinds of friends he'd always longed for?

Happily, he set out to make friends with them.

Then one day he suddenly realized that he'd actually transmigrated into a BL novel with more tops than bottoms. Everyone in the book was gay, and he himself was a much-desired, irresistibly cute bottom.

The boys around him revolved around him because they liked him.

Ying Xiaoyu: ...

As the novel's top protagonist, Yuan Shao awakened and realized not only that he was in a fictional world and a character in a book, but also that he strongly rejected the plot's forced requirement that he fall for the protagonist bottom.

Because in the scripted story, he was a lovesick puppy, the bottom was loved by everyone, and he had to fight his way through countless rivals to win the beauty in the end.

Yuan Shao: This is so damn ridiculous and messed up.

So after starting university, he avoided Ying Xiaoyu whenever he could, keeping as far away as possible.

He soon realized that Ying Xiaoyu wasn't at all the "weak and coquettish" character described in the book. He only looked shy. In reality, he was polite and principled.

He also wasn't flirting ambiguously with one guy after another, nor did he show any special interest in the top who was supposed to be his destined match whenever they met. Since they weren't close, he simply nodded politely when they crossed paths.

Yuan Shao: ?

Had Ying Xiaoyu awakened, too?

Why was he so different from how the plot described him?

Later, Yuan Shao let down his guard, got to know Ying Xiaoyu, and became his friend. They got along well.

And later still

Yuan Shao: Damn it, why doesn't Ying Xiaoyu love me? Has the plot setting gone and died?
