The Twentieth Year of the Apocalypse

1. The twentieth year of the apocalypse. The world is a wasteland.

Ruan Ya is the last one holding on in the wasteland. He Que is a traitor driven out of the base.

Later, Ruan Ya takes He Que in.

The lonely girl welcomes the exiled He Que and hands him a dewy red rose, fresh and delicate. Her fingertips carry the rose's fragrance, bringing the holy light of hope.

She takes his rough, bloodstained hand and gently strokes the scorched wasteland. "This land is ravaged, but I love her. I will give her all my love for the rest of my life."

The scorched earth is ravaged, barren, and lifeless, with not a blade of grass growing. Yet wherever she goes, life springs up, and everything flourishes.

Ruan Ya heals the land, and heals him, too. Trembling, he reaches out with both hands and accepts her flowers and love, offering her all the love and loyalty of his life.

2. He Que was born a monster, despised by all and unable to find acceptance in the darkness. Everyone feared him, loathed him, hated him. No one loved him.

In the end, he was utterly defeated and driven out of the base. He thought this was the end of his life, until a wandering girl from the wasteland found him, wounded all over, and took him home to care for him.

She was just a lonely, helpless wanderer, yet she threw herself into his dark world without hesitation. "Everyone fears you, loathes you, and hates you. But Ruan Ya loves you."

In that moment, He Que realized that this was the true beginning of his life.

He couldn't bear to let Ruan Ya enter the darkness. She was a goddess from the light, and the darkness must never touch her. So he left his past behind and ran toward her world, no matter the cost.

Ruan Ya's world was made of trees, flowers, and He Que.
