[The Legend of Hao Lan: The Bright Moon of the Tang] The Moon Shines Bright

Palace walls upon palace walls enclose the clear autumn; deep in the palace, lonely hearts dwell in solitude.

In the twenty-first year of Zhenguan, during the reign of Emperor Taizong of Tang, his fourteenth son was granted the title of Prince of Cao and a fief of a thousand households.

That year, undercurrents surged through Taiji Palace, and figures moved in the shadows.

That year, after nine years apart, two twins born of the same mother met again.

That year, by the Taiye Pond, beneath the willows brushing the bank, she saw that graceful young gentleman.

"Master, what do you think will become of the palace?" She gazed at the roses blooming along the springtime wall.

"The palace? It's a place where nothing is what it seems."
