The Plot Hit Me Right in the Face

After a drink's worth of time, Gu Linshen realizes he's a cannon-fodder character in a danmei novel, whose only purpose is to let the protagonist play the hero and save the beauty.

But in the few minutes it takes him to absorb the plot, the protagonist has already saved the beauty. A new cannon-fodder character takes his place and gets humiliated, then the cannon-fodder side characters all head home separately to find their own families.

Gu Linshen: ... (A question mark slowly appears above his head.)

So... what did he awaken for?

Just then, a little white rabbit(?) with sparkling eyes bumps into him. To commemorate learning about the plot, Gu Linshen plays the hero and saves the beauty, gaining an adorable boyfriend in the process.

His actions also topple a domino, and after various characters enter the stage, Gu Linshen finally sees the story hidden behind the brainless danmei novel.
