Marrying My Nemesis After Bankruptcy

When Yan Zhixue was little, his parents adopted a boy named Lu Yichen. The young Master Yan was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Frail and sickly, he was spoiled by his family into becoming arrogant and domineering. Even though Lu Yichen was older, Yan Zhixue bullied him and kept him under his thumb. In middle school, they drew a pair of roles for a school play. Yan Zhixue immediately spat, "I'd play a dog before I'd act as Lu Yichen's lover. What rotten luck!" In high school, when Lu Yichen was about to leave to study abroad, the two fell out. Yan Zhixue yelled, "You're just a dog our family raised. You'll be begging on the streets overseas, too!" Seven years later, Yan Zhixue's parents died in an accident, the Yan family went bankrupt, and Yan Zhixue fell overnight from the clouds into the mud. By then, Lu Yichen had started a business overseas and become a billionaire CEO, feared by countless people for his ruthless methods. When he heard the Yan family had gone bankrupt, Lu Yichen returned home overnight. At the funeral, everyone the Yan family had ever offended showed up to enjoy the spectacle. Everyone: Yan Zhixue is done for. In private, Lu Yichen tossed Yan Zhixue a fake marriage agreement. "Are you signing or not?" Lu Yichen knew Yan Zhixue had no choice. "...I'll sign." "I seem to remember someone saying he'd play a dog before he'd act as my lover. Hmm?" "...Meow." So at the funeral, Lu Yichen announced his marriage to Yan Zhixue in front of his adoptive parents' memorial tablets. Everyone: Yan Zhixue is done for... wait, what? Long afterward, Yan Zhixue was still clutching his lower back, eyes brimming with tears as he paid for the trouble he'd caused as a boy. "Be good and do as I say, Zhixue. One more time, okay?" "...You damn bastard." "You said it yourself. I'm the dog you raised, aren't I?" The man pinned Yan Zhixue down by the waist like a rabid dog and bit the back of his neck. Theme: The farther you go, the farther you leave the shadows of the past behind.
