The Whole World Thinks I Was Forced

Li Xitang was born with an extremely yin fate. A yin medium said he wouldn't live past eighteen, and the only solution was to marry a vengeful ghost.

Li Xi wanted his nephew to survive. For generations, their family had been suppressing a powerful evil spirit. Rumor had it that the spirit was filled with boundless resentment because it had no partner, so the two sides hit it off immediately.

Li Xitang was delighted with the marriage. His husband would die young, leaving behind enough wealth for him to enjoy for the rest of his life. Perfect, nothing to worry about. Yet everyone assumed he was being forced into it.

His childhood friend held back his fury. "Xitang, don't worry. This is a backward feudal custom. I'll report it right now."

Then there were all sorts of strange people trying to stop the wedding at every turn. "Li Xitang, run! Your husband is destined to become the Ghost King. If you marry him, you'll die without even a whole corpse!"

Li Xitang watched the legendary future Ghost King chasing after him to feed him. "..."

"Li Xitang, you're so noble. You sacrificed yourself to stop the Ghost King from being born. Don't worry. Once we find a way to suppress him, we'll come rescue you."

Li Xitang hesitated, wanting to speak.

Everyone thought Li Xitang was being forced, but he wished he could announce to the whole world: "No, I'm really not."

Everyone looked at him with pity. "We understand."

Ghost King: "..." Thanks for asking. I just want to cuddle up with my wife in a warm bed. Don't @ me.

The one who is always assumed to have some deep-seated reason for everything x the one who is always thought to want to destroy the world, but actually just wants to cuddle with his wife in a warm bed.
