Burning Out the Sun

If you want to be the sun, you have to turn away from the darkness. If you want to live with your eyes open, you have to suffer for the rest of your life.

I love the blazing sun. I love the towering mountains. I love the rippling streams and the gentle breeze.

All I ask for in life can be summed up in four words: fairness and freedom.

I pity myself for being a woman, unable to take part in the men's battles.

I pity myself for being human, trapped in a cage and denied freedom.

Inspired by Princess Gaoyang of the Tang Dynasty

Warning: Tragic ending, female perspective, possibly seen as whining about nothing by some readers
