No one could have guessed that before dating Lu Shibei, Qu Xuan had accidentally topped up his phone balance three times.

The first time, Qu Xuan nervously texted a stranger.

[Hey, I'm really sorry. I was topping up my roommate's campus phone card, but I mistook the last digit, a 1, for a 7, and ended up topping up your number. Since we're at the same university, could you send the money back? QAQ]

That night, Qu Xuan waited in vain for the money and thought it was gone for good.

The next day, things took a turn: she received a text confirming the top-up. The money was back.

The second time, a somewhat familiar number sent her a message.

[You again?]

Qu Xuan was baffled. After checking, she realized she'd forgotten to change the number when topping up, and hurriedly typed a reply.

[It's me, it's me! I just topped up 100 yuan and the last number was selected by default. Sorry for the trouble QAQ]

There was no reply, but the money arrived.

One day, she found out that the number belonged to Lu Shibei, her best friend Lu Qingxia's older brother, a famous computer science genius on campus.

She wanted to meet him properly, so she topped up his phone again.

After hearing about their relationship, her best friend invited Qu Xuan over.

She pressed for the whole story, then concluded, "So Lu Shibei is your boyfriend because you hooked him with phone top-ups? In short, a top-up boyfriend."

Lu Shibei brought over some fruit and caught only the last four words. He earnestly asked, "Does 'top-up boyfriend' mean a boyfriend who pays for all your phone credit?"

They never brought it up again, and Qu Xuan thought the matter was over.

Then Qu Xuan noticed that she always had plenty of phone credit, and Lu Shibei insisted on reminding her that he was a genuine top-up boyfriend :D

Lu Qingxia doesn't answer. She just smiles brightly and lets him wonder.

After dinner, Lu Qingxia asks Li Zhiyan to go shopping with her.

"Mr. Li, I hear people like you give their ex-girlfriends a breakup settlement after they split up."

She pauses outside a luxury boutique and asks, "Can I get what I was owed years ago?"

The summer Lu Qingxia transferred back to Jingcheng, she met Li Zhiyan for the first time.

He was skateboarding downstairs from her home when he collided with her and knocked her over.
