Becoming the Nemesis of the Dragon-Attitude Male Lead

Xie Shijue thought that after transmigrating into a story about a Heavenly Chosen One, all he had to do was cling to the young protagonist's coattails and coast to an easy victory. He never expected to be bound to the Rival System, which meant he had to oppose the male lead for the rest of his life. He had to leave indelible psychological scars on the male lead in childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood, becoming an insurmountable peak before the male lead could grow strong, even a demon of his own making, before finally being defeated by him. As long as he maxed out the male lead's hatred, he could fake his death after completing the plot in which the male lead killed him, assume a new identity, and live freely. After carefully studying the script, Xie Shijue began periodically provoking the male lead to earn his hatred. System: Why are you helping the male lead? Xie Shijue: From years of reading novels, I know that giving him something and then cruelly taking it away makes him hate me even more. System: Why are you volunteering to take the blame for other people? Xie Shijue: You can never have too many burdens ^^ System: Why are you getting so close to all those villainous cannon fodder characters? Xie Shijue: I hope some of their hatred rubs off on me. Misunderstandings would be even better. Unnoticed by anyone, alongside the growing hatred, a vivid red affection score bloomed like an untimely flower in a forest of thorns. System: The male lead hates you so much he stayed awake all night. Xie Shijue: Just one night? System: The male lead was training on the grounds from dusk till dawn, shouting your name the whole time. Xie Shijue: Just as expected. System: The male lead has fallen to darkness. He's gone psycho and wants to lock you up. Xie Shijue: ? * "A rival means an eternal contest, a lifelong opponent, a natural adversary, someone entangled with you for life, a competitor destined to cross your path." "After being bound to this system, the Host will level up alongside the male lead as his rival. Until the male lead kills you, your apparent strength will remain above his, and he will be unable to surpass you." Rival System User Manual Shen Du: Rather than fight to the death in this role, I'd rather be entangled with you for life in another way. [Blurb saved 22.10.17] Theme: None at present
