[Trying out an open-ended, everyday-life finale. Bonus chapters coming soon. For some reason, I can't upload a leave notice. The extra chapter wasn't finished, so I didn't post it on the 30th.]
Kuki Hidenobu attends Kanagawa Prefectural Ririou High School. A stone-faced, emotionless bookworm, he secretly spends all his time... playing a game.
Pet Battle.
It sounds like a turn-based Pokemon game about pets.
In reality, though, it's a laid-back pet-raising game. After discovering a pet, the player has to lure, coax, abduct, or otherwise bring it home, then begin raising it and matching wits with it until they win its heart.
The game's only daily task is to send adorable pets out to eliminate all kinds of twisted, ugly little monsters...
Kuki Hidenobu: What a terrible game. I have too many complaints to list.
But he still hasn't quit, because he recently found a cat while [Exploring].
That soft, fluffy fur puffed up like a snowy marshmallow, those sparkling blue eyes, that cat so beautiful to the extreme... Kuki Hidenobu fell for it in a second.
Today is the fourth day he's tried to coax [Gojo Cat] home.
*
[Gojo Cat] is clingy, yet independent.
Whenever Kuki Hidenobu logs in, he sees a giant snowball of a cat rushing at him. Its white paw pushes down its sunglasses, pink paw pads peeking out, as its blue vertical pupils stare him down.
Then it meows furiously without stopping, circles him over and over, and demands Kikufuku. If he won't give it any, it runs away from home.
Kuki Hidenobu thought he was raising a cat and leveling it up, when in fact he was using it to level up himself by fighting monsters. After nearly being beaten to death by a monster in a dream once again, he finally realizes...
The cat has left him and run away.
After cycling through confusion, urgency, anxiety, dejection, and grief, Kuki Hidenobu accepts a [Daily Task] despite knowing something is wrong with it, hoping to force [Gojo Cat] to show itself.
The next day, he's promptly pummeled by a barrage of meow-meow punches. The summoned [Gojo Cat] yells at him: "Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow!?"
[Gojo Cat]: Idiot! Why are you, a summoner, always trying to fight in close combat?!
Kuki Hidenobu, who has no idea he's been fighting monsters the wrong way this whole time, is still utterly baffled.
*
One day later, Kuki Hidenobu is at Jujutsu High.
A tall teacher wearing a blindfold sounds aggrieved. "How can there be a cat who's as dazzling as Gojo-sensei and twice as cute?!"
Kuki Hidenobu suddenly pulls [Gojo Cat] out of his arms, ignoring its bewildered, bristling fur. His expressionless face shines with excitement as he shouts, "Because whether it's Gojo Cat or Gojo-sensei, they're both perfect Gojo NEKO!"
Little scene:
Kuki Hidenobu finally understands that he's a summoner, not a melee specialist. When he faces an enemy, he raises his arm and shouts, "Everyone, get them!"
Behind him is a huge group of adorable pets, ready to fight in his place.
Kuki Hidenobu can't help but wonder: Why did I work so hard before?

[Tips before reading]
* A Gojo fanfic, no pairing. Please don't post hostile comments about the characters. Apologies for any out-of-character portrayals.
* Probably a slow-burn, cozy everyday-life story? For now, it's a medium-length, freewheeling story written on a whim. Don't expect meticulous canon research. (Important!)
* The main story will only occasionally feature characters from other everyday-life anime. Bonus chapters are undecided. Any original settings will be noted in the author's comments. The author is chatty and will try to update daily after signing, but will post a leave notice if there's no update.
* [Gojo Cat] is a real cat, Gojo from a parallel-universe animal AU.

"Agent Gojo Is Working in the FBI's Special Division"
Description
Gojo transmigrates for no apparent reason into a world teeming with murder cases, strange incidents involving monsters and superhumans, and a steady stream of ghosts and demons. He ends up in the hardest-hit area, the beautiful country of America, and nearly turns into a screaming chicken.
This is just... so. much. fun!
He has to become an FBI agent! Solve cases!
*
A "genius" joins the BAU division of the FBI.
With a rare, breathtaking face, an enthusiastic personality, a perfect case-solving record, and a drive to succeed, he should be a shining light in the BAU!
But...
His personality is atrocious. Despite being incredibly strong, he pretends to be physically helpless, gets kidnapped by a stalker, and plays the part of a frail, unarmed "victim."
Only after the case is transferred to the BAU does he saunter into the interview room, show off his handcuffs, and toy with the entire division. Then he innocently says, "I just wanted to meet my future colleagues!"
*
One day, he successfully transfers to a mysterious department that no one pays any attention to.
When he finally sees the legendary X-Files, Gojo flips through the files on inexplicable cases, looking shocked and disappointed, with words caught in his throat.
Another outsider.
Mulder sighs, but still asks hopefully, "Do you believe there are aliens in this world?"
Gojo drops the file in his hand and shouts under Mulder's astonished gaze, "Why didn't you tell me about something this great sooner?!"
He looks at Mulder. "They're aliens!"
Mulder: "???"
Mulder: "!!!"
Mulder thinks he's met an alien enthusiast, then believes he's found a kindred spirit. Only in the end does he realize...
This is a troublemaking jokester who just wants to stir things up.
I Want to Report Hannibal [Western Crossover]
Description
Lannon died while playing a game called Demon Intern.
Then he was reborn with the game's interface. On the surface, he's a rare, beautiful boy newly adopted from a Parisian orphanage. In reality, he's an underage succubus still growing up, with internal organs completely unlike a normal human's, muscle density far beyond an athlete's, and an incredibly fast healing rate.
Lannon: ...
Is this the kind of "naughty" succubus I'm thinking of?
But the game interface for Demon Intern, which came back with him, cleared the junk out of Lannon's brain and quickly displayed the correct information about succubi.
"Succubus": A nonhuman species with a difficult growth period. They are skilled at keeping humans and feeding on their life force. Their behavior differs greatly between their growth and mature phases. They have good relations with banshees, vampires, werewolves... Their only natural enemy is hunters.
Oh, and now he has to add one more to his list of natural enemies: the young Hannibal. After the adoption paperwork is complete, the game interface warns him: "The player is about to become the first person on young Hannibal's test subject list."
Lannon: ...
He had thought he'd simply forgotten to drink Granny Meng's soup before being reborn. But when he realizes that the woman who adopted him is called "Madame Purple," he gets the faintest sense that something is wrong and falls silent.
Hannibal?
That name sounds so familiar.
When it finally clicks, he tries to run away, but the game stops him. All he can do is struggle and protest: "Are you trying to get me killed? That's Hannibal! Are you sure he won't dissect me the moment he discovers I'm not human?"
Then...
"Hunter activity detected nearby. The player is expected to die tonight."
"Best escape plan: Join the Lecter family."
Lannon: ...
He has no choice but to endure the humiliation and cling to life.
So Lannon abandons his escape, no, his running-away plan, and obediently goes home with Madame Purple. The silent, unhinged Lecter family welcomes a new Lecter, joining the several Lecters who have already died.
Fresh blood flows into the family, creating an extraordinary chemical reaction.
*
"Task: Report the equipment loophole in the biology lab and sabotage Hannibal's plan."
"Task complete."
Lannon: I think he's about to start killing people.
Hannibal, whose plan was sabotaged: Silent, ignoring him, then staring at Lannon for a full five minutes over dinner.
Lannon: (terrified)
That night, he dreams that Hannibal is chasing him relentlessly with a knife.
*
"Task: You're starving during your growth period. Complete a hunt."
Lannon: Do I really have to hunt? I have a phobia of dirt.
"You must."
Lannon: ...What if the Lecters find out? They'll dissect me!
"Please do not fantasize about things that haven't happened."
Lannon: (still trying to bargain)
In the end, Lannon says, "Fine, I'll ask my prey for consent." (Disappointed.)
But before he can even step out of the house, Hannibal stops him, his hunger making his head swim. His personality has already changed in subtle ways. Smiling, he asks elegantly, "Are you hungry?"
Lannon: "?"
Lannon is so scared his mind goes completely blank.
*
"Task: Report a murder to the police and leave the Lecter home."
"Task complete."
Lannon: ...
Heartbroken, he moves into the Cortez Hotel.
Lannon hesitates: The name sounds familiar.
Wait, could it be...!
Theme: Set out to become a better version of yourself, actively seek out the beautiful, and praise all beautiful things. That is one of life's great meanings.
There is no species distinction between Gojo-sensei and cats!
After reading 261, I need a cat to purify my soul.
Ahhhhhhhh Mr. Gojo's cat experience card has expired, I can't bear to leave Mr. Big White Cat [crying]
Fuhei Shierlang, you are really professional (that tone). If you say that your favorability is 50, then your favorability is 50.
Ah, I keep pushing, can I update it?
It's Wu Meow but I can't understand cat language.
Alas, is this the end? ! ! It's totally not enough! Please give me more five cats!
It's over, a little sudden, but it's a happy ending!
Welcome back! Cat [star eyes] [star eyes] [star eyes] (take a big sip)
Hahahahahaha Megumi Megumi is too irritating!
