[My next novel. I'll start once the pre-orders are enough, so please add it to your reading list. A hilarious, face-slapping, feel-good story.]
Su Jiyun transmigrates into a book, becoming a cannon-fodder villainess in a modern romance novel. The scum male lead had treated her like dirt, leaving her heartbroken and choosing to become a nun on a mountain. She also gets a System.
However, her transmigration throws the timeline into chaos. All the major heroes and villains who should have been making waves at this point in the story died suddenly several years ago. The System tells her she must keep returning to the past and save all the powerful figures who weren't supposed to die.
After thinking it over, Su Jiyun decides she can't do all that work for nothing, can she?
So, relying on her thorough knowledge of the plot, she returns to the past disguised as a gifted Taoist priestess whose fortune-telling is never wrong. After she uses her powers of persuasion to save each powerful figure's life, she leaves them with one instruction: "If you want to repay me for saving your life, just make a small incense donation to the temple on Qingyun Mountain X years from now."
Every time Su Jiyun completes a mission and returns to the temple to see whether those powerful figures have kept their promise, she finds something new to be horrified by.
The son of a financial tycoon waits for her halfway up the mountain. The leaky, shabby temple vanishes overnight, replaced by a grand temple in lavish splendor. A top-tier star sits in a luxury car, bringing so many tourists that they nearly trample Qingyun Mountain. A powerful, obsessive man arrives in a wheelchair and drags the original novel's male lead, who once mistreated her, in front of her to do with as she pleases.
Su Jiyun thinks, You call this making a small incense donation? This is arson!
And then there's the one who kneels in front of her with a ring box and says, "After thinking it over, I realized that no donation would be sincere enough. How about I donate myself?"
Su Jiyun, who wanted to laze around but was forced to reach the pinnacle of success: "You probably won't believe me, but I just wanted to swindle a little money."
Theme: Good deeds are rewarded.
