The Rules of Escape [Infinite]

Xia Ling is the kind of cannon-fodder character who dies at the start of every supernatural story. He's timid and cowardly, so easily frightened that he can barely keep his head, and whenever danger appears, he runs off in a panic.

Staggering, he watches the route through the game Escape Rules on the giant screen, constantly convinced he won't make it through the next stage alive:

Corpse in the Mountain Village: in progress

Ripples in the Ancient Well: opening

Girl in the Basement: locked

Moonlight in the Middle of the Lake: locked

Dormitory Ghost Story: locked

Someone in the Old House: locked

Strange Noises in the Stairwell: locked

Xia Ling breaks down sobbing. As he runs, he chops off an evil spirit's head with a huge blade. "What did I do to deserve this? Somebody save me! I'm going to die! Help!"

A few things to know before reading:

> The female lead is weak and timid at first, but grows over time.

> The plot comes first. The male lead isn't human (I'm not insulting him. He really isn't human).

> [Important] This is a practice work. The setting is made up, the story is nonsense, and nothing is based on real events. Don't expect it to stand up to scrutiny.

Theme: Never intend to harm others, but always guard against being harmed
