Does Lan Tang Like Me Today?

[The full draft will be completed before posting. If the response to the advance notice is good, I'll start writing.]

Ever since childhood, countless girls have liked Aido Hanabusa. Whether vampire or human, Ogumo Chika is by far the least enthusiastic of them all.

She tells him she likes him, then dances a waltz with Ichijo Takuma at a party. She tells him she likes him, then shares his embarrassing childhood stories with all the young ladies, laughing the whole time.

Her affection never goes beyond words. She never acts on it.

By the time Aido realizes this, it's already too late.

...Oh no. I think I might like her.

One day, the Ogumo family hosts a ball. Aido leaves halfway through and passes by the garden.

The girl sits on the windowsill, swinging her slender, pale legs, not caring who might walk by. Suddenly, she looks down. "Aido."

He looks up.

"If I jump, will you catch me?"

"Hmph. Go ahead and jump. It's not like I'd ever... Hey! You, "

The girl lands safely in his arms, giggling nonstop like a fox that's gotten its way.

"...Ogumo Chika, you should lose some weight."

"Sure. I'll definitely do it next time."

P.S.

* This story breaks up the canon pairing. Fans of Aido and Ruka, beware. It starts when they're children.

* Childhood friends are the greatest. The plot? What's that?

* Dedicated to my first anime crush.
