Born in 1982

Li Tianming was born in 1982 to an ordinary working-class family. Her gender left her parents bitterly disappointed. Even the name "Li Tianming" had been carefully chosen in anticipation of a boy. Reluctantly, they gave it to her and registered her birth, accepting reality.

Three years later, she got a younger brother.

Her parents had violated the family-planning policy. One was demoted, and the other lost their job. Li Tianming's carefree childhood ended when she was just three.

Her future seemed destined to take one of two paths: she would either be forced to become a family ATM for her younger brother, or be brainwashed into choosing that role herself. She would be drained by her family of origin, resented by her husband, and spend her life in pain and numbness.

Li Tianming said no to her family of origin. She fought her way through life, protecting her literary dreams, and became the renowned online author "Luo Shang," winning both fame and fortune.

To escape the shadows of her youth, face the demons within, and heal her wounds, Li Tianming began serializing a semi-autobiographical period novel, Born in 1982, on Jinjiang Literature City, where she had signed a contract.

After the serial began, people from her youth stepped back into her life. Even someone she had believed dead was standing right before her eyes...

A dual-line narrative interweaving a period novel and the modern day.

One-line pitch: Why be your brother's ATM? I'm the queen of novels!
