The Person I Like Isn't the Male Lead

(I can’t keep going, so I’ve decided to stop writing. This story will end here too. To avoid taking up a spot on the popular novels list, I’ve changed its status to complete.) Gu Nian is an utterly ordinary girl. Her grades are always mediocre, her family is neither rich nor poor, and she barely stands out at school. The only thing she has going for her is that she’s pretty cute. No one understands why she likes the school’s cold, aloof heartthrob. He’s a real tough guy. He never hangs out with anyone. As far as everyone else can tell, whenever Gu Nian goes over to him, it’s only his roommate who talks to her. One day, Gu Nian actually stopped the heartthrob and handed him a love letter. Blushing, Gu Nian realized that the three of them had eaten together several times, but she’d forgotten to ask this guy’s name. Still, she steeled herself and handed him the letter, saying softly, “Could you give this to Brother Shu for me?” Blurb Two When the new school year began, Gu Nian fell in love at first sight with someone. He was tall, funny, witty, gentle, and interesting. Every little thing about him was exactly to her taste, and every minute she spent with him made her happy! But... it seemed he only thought of her as a good friend, because every time she asked him to go out, he brought his roommate along. So she decided to confess her feelings. Gu Nian waited downstairs for ages, but he never came down, so she could only hand the love letter to her crush’s taciturn roommate and ask him to pass it on. After all, someone as taciturn as him surely wouldn’t go around gossiping about her. Blurb Three Li Jiashu likes a girl. Whenever he sees her, he can’t help trying to make her laugh. But all the girls at school like his cold, aloof roommate. Maybe that girl does too. Whenever she asks him to eat with her, he always brings along his taciturn roommate without a word, even though he and his roommate aren’t particularly close. Then the girl says she’s going to confess her feelings. Li Jiashu spends the whole day avoiding it, but in the end, he still sends his roommate downstairs. Blurb Four The heartthrob’s taciturn roommate, who doesn’t even get a name, is constantly dragged along as a third wheel and ends up having to deliver love letters too: “You two are unbelievable! Do you hear me? You’re both unbelievable!” This is the story of a cold, possessive male lead who slowly learns to become a loving father figure. A love story between a romance prodigy, a sweet girl, and Brother Shu, a cheerful, adorably clueless straight guy. And the story of a cold, possessive male lead who is healed by their love and friendship. It’s about love, family, and friendship. So the main cast consists of three people. P.S. Inspired by the line “If only we’d been in the same class in high school” from the neighboring novel Reverse Growth (I Have a CEO Friend). That was when I settled on the setup of a couple and a handsome, strong, yet tragic male lead. Theme: Everyone must make their way into society step by step, take up the baton passed down through the generations, and shoulder their share of responsibility.
