I.
Childhood sweethearts, a perfect match.
That was how Jian Nian described her relationship with Fang Minghuai in her heart.
He was a top-tier star, while she was a stand-in actress with a facial blemish.
Their secret relationship had to stay hidden, but Jian Nian was willing.
She was injured saving him, and he promised to protect her for the rest of her life. That was enough.
Until, while she was filming at a studio lot, a runaway horse was about to crush her ribs, and she saw Fang Minghuai kiss another girl on the forehead.
He said he couldn't keep loving her.
No one believed that the hugely popular young star had ever dated a stand-in actress with a blemish on her face.
They spread damaging rumors and slandered her, stopping at nothing.
Only one person was willing to bow down and kiss the still-healing scars on her face, taking her away from that bizarre, glittering world.
No one could have imagined that the notorious young master of the Sheng family, a dissolute and eccentric playboy who never so much as glanced at the beautiful women of Yangcheng when they threw themselves at him in tears, would rush to the scene in a frenzy, kissing the tears on her face through his own choked sobs,
then pull her into his arms.
"A Nian, I'm late. Do you blame me?"
#I fell into darkness, and you came to me with the light#
#Don't cry, my little fool#
After their breakup, Jian Nian appeared in a deep-blue qipao behind carved wooden railings and screens, as elusive as a wisp of cloud drifting through the misty waters of Jiangnan.
Fang Minghuai suppressed his longing, wanting to pull her into his arms.
But he saw her wrap her arm around another man's waist, her fingers resting against his back, her slender body fitting perfectly into his embrace.
The man was strikingly elegant, his smiling eyes full of affection. He pressed her head down and held her close, then kissed the corner of her lips right in front of Fang Minghuai.
#The Second Male Lead Takes the Lead#
P.S. No romance or intimate scenes before adulthood.
Please note:
1. The male lead won't win her back. The tag [Reconciliation After a Breakup is Only Here for Ranking Purposes] is included for ranking purposes. The second male lead takes the lead, and Chi Yan is the endgame.
2. If you want to read about a male lead who does win her back, check out my novel Refusing the Marriage Proposal in my author profile.
3. No character in the entertainment industry is based on a real person. I'm terrible at writing blurbs, so please give the story a try (kneels).
Coming soon: Island Diary
Si Piao keeps a diary that records all the unspeakable secrets of her girlhood:
The year she transferred schools at fifteen, she was withdrawn, fragile, and quiet.
Yet every day on the way home, she deliberately slowed her pace, listening closely to the roar of the motorcycle behind her,
watching the carefree young man lean down, smiling with bright eyes.
At seventeen, she nervously and excitedly rode on the back of his motorcycle for the first time, carried away by the wind.
She lightly clutched the hem of his jacket, while the wildfire in her heart burned her world to ashes.
But she was only accompanying him to see the girl he loved.
At eighteen, she tried to become like the girl he liked: bold, eccentric, and daring.
She cornered him against a wall and asked if he was willing to love her.
Yan Wenyu tapped the cigarette between his fingers. "Don't imitate other people. It doesn't suit you."
After turning eighteen, Si Piao left the little island that held all her secrets.
University, clubs, and outstanding, passionate men helped dull the memories of heartbreak.
When an old friend brought up Yan Yuzhou, Si Piao only took a sip of wine and said,
"He was just a motorcycle punk I had a silly crush on as a girl. It was never serious."
"Did he ever come looking for you again?"
"He did."
"What did you tell him?"
Si Piao pointed to the male classmate beside her. "I told him this is my boyfriend."
"I like gentle, refined, courteous men. He's a wild dog. Sorry, I'm not interested."
"What if he keeps pestering you?"
Si Piao tapped the table, the corners of her eyes lifting as she smiled mischievously. "Then I'll play along."
After a few rounds of drinks, Si Piao picked up her coat to leave. Her gaze shifted, and she found herself caught in the seductive web of someone watching from the darkness.
Yan Wenyu's alcohol-scented kiss came down upon her.
His low voice, full of temptation, pierced into Si Piao's head:
"Play along?"
Theme: If you aren't afraid of hardship, you can make the flower of life bloom.
How dare you mess with the heroine? What kind of vine is this? She's a loser.
If you can't get used to living alone, why are you buying a house? Hahahahahaha
Because I was frustrated in my studies, I still couldn't control myself. I chose this book to read on this app next time. I wanted to adjust my emotions. I found it very sad, and because of the excessive emotional consumption, I couldn't make much of an impact. I felt like I was numb...
Looks like there are no comments
"Super" is a big thorn in the side of the author~
How handsome is the male partner? He cuts it off cleanly and neatly. It's great.
Wasn't the heroine disfigured? Why did she suddenly get better? I was jumping to watch it. Can someone tell me?
I don't quite understand... I always feel that the heroine is acting stupid like this... All kinds of diversions from the topic...
The author's writing is really great. Come on.
Ahhhhhhh I like the fried chicken
