The Stand-In Ran Away

Tong Xin and Gu Yingshen grew up together. Tong Xin had an utterly obvious crush on him, and just as he was about to confess, he accidentally overheard Gu Yingshen telling someone that he liked somebody, but that person wasn't Tong Xin. Tong Xin chose to quietly wish him well. Tong Xin thought he would have to watch Gu Yingshen marry someone else from afar. Then Gu Yingshen's great love got together with someone else and moved abroad, and one drunken night, the two of them unexpectedly slept together. Afterward, they somehow ended up together. But Tong Xin knew perfectly well that Gu Yingshen was only using him as a substitute for his great love. He didn't care, because he loved Gu Yingshen and believed that one day, Gu Yingshen would be moved by him and fall in love with him. But whenever Gu Yingshen got drunk, he called out his great love's name. Even when they were together, he would call Tong Xin by the wrong name. Tong Xin knew he should cut his losses and leave, but he was addicted to those rare moments of tenderness. Besides, after giving so much, it felt like a waste to give up. When he learned that Gu Yingshen's great love had broken up with her partner and returned to the country, Tong Xin decided to stop humiliating himself. He quietly packed his things and left, disappearing from Gu Yingshen's world without a trace and without leaving him a single word. Only after Tong Xin left did Gu Yingshen realize he had fallen in love with him long ago. Tong Xin was an indispensable part of his life, but by the time he understood, it was too late. When Gu Yingshen finally found Tong Xin, all he saw was his tombstone. Just as he thought he would spend the rest of his life alone, he met Tong Xin again, only to see him happily rush into another man's arms.
