The Unfathomable Investigators

In short: Two nonhumans use each other as templates to learn how to be human. The more they learn, the further off track they get. Everyone knows they're not human except the two of them. A frenzied cultist tightens the cord around a girl's neck. Viscous blood floods the sinister runes. Black-robed fanatics praise their almighty lord, while the dying girl at the center of the ritual curses them to hell with all her hatred. A great being known as the "apex predator that roams the void" casts its gaze down from beyond the world, finding the scene quite interesting. And so it answers the girl's anguished plea, becoming "Yulia." She has always believed her human disguise to be flawless, until she is pulled into a tabletop role-playing game. The indescribable beings in the game avoid her like the plague, trembling with fear. Yulia, gripping a monster by the scruff of fate: "Come on, hit me! Why are you running? :)" Monster: "...Run and die, stay and die. What a deadly choice." [Warnings] 1. This is a tabletop role-playing game in a Western fantasy world! A Western fantasy tabletop role-playing game! The investigators include bounty hunters, witches, dragons, prophets, and more. 2. Both the heroine and hero are eldritch nonhumans. The author has done their best to make them appealing, so proceed with caution if that's not your thing. #The heroine's true form is a vast swarm of butterflies flitting beyond the universe; her usual form is a swarm of black, white, and gray moths. The hero is a tentacled monster somewhat like a jellyfish.# 3. This is an occasional-update idea collection. It will be years before it becomes a main project. 4. The writing is rough. I'll try to make it funny, though I might not succeed. The eldritch horror atmosphere should be pretty strong, at least. Theme: Another day of world peace.
